Replace damaged or loose electrical cords, and avoid running extension cords across doorways or under carpets. Consider having additional circuits or outlets added by TFW Electric so you do not have to use extension cords. Don't overload outlets! If outlets or switches feel warm, there are blown fuses, tripping breakers or the lights are flickering call TFW Electric. Keep Kids safe, make sure your home has tamper-resistant receptacles. Make sure your home has ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) in the kitchen bathroom(s), laundry, basement, and outdor areas.
Use the right light bulbs in all lamps and light fixtures. Look inside the light fixture. Find a label that tells you which light bulb size (wattage) is right for the fixture.
Lost power in the entire room? Check the breaker panel for a tripped breaker and reset them if needed. To reset a breaker properly, you must first turn it all the way off, then turn it back on. A tripped breaker's handle is usually in the "middle" position. When working near the electrical panel use caution. Better yet, stay safe, call TFW.
